Day 238

Lulu had a day out with Mommy today :) We had Mana stay home with P, and hit the road-- she's a great errand running pal, as she just sits in her stroller looking cute, smiling at Mama & getting tons of compliments from strangers. ;) We love having P usually, but today we had about 5 stops, and with the three of us, that would've taken forever. 

After Mana went home, it was dinner, baths & bed... And just a little closer to Papa coming home! He's been away for three days, bless him, he needs some rest! We have lots planned for the next few days, though, so I guess rest is gonna have to wait. :/ One day we'll rest, but not any time soon!! 

Here's a pic of Luciana fresh out of the bath this evening... She gets washed first, and taken out & changed into jammies while P plays. Everyone seems fine with this arrangement! :)

Day 237

IJust a few pics from today... We had a very HOT day today, and aside from a quick outing to a couple shops, we had another low key day at home. :)

Oh, I have to tell a little Lulu story: she is a cuddly baby. After her morning nap, for the last two or three days, when I hear her cry I'll go up to our room (where she has her a.m. nap, because her bedroom at that hour is HOT & SUNNY), I'll get on the bed with her and cuddle her for 10-15 minutes until she's really awake. She lets me hug and kiss her, play with her chubby little legs and arms, pinch her cheeks and we "talk". I remember when P used to let me smother her like that!! ;) I am eating this time UP-- when Luciana lets me squeeze and squish her! Since our family is complete, there won't be any more babies, so-- even though it's a hard time with our two under two, it's also really, really fun. :)

Day 236

Luciana had a very good day, we all did-- we spent the day at home, had a very low key day, and it was just what we all needed! Yesterday was a busy day from start to finish, and BOTH girls slept in as a result of a very late night. Papa went back to work this morning, and us gals slept until 8am!!!!! Unheard of around here. Luciana slept even longer, maybe 8:30! It made for very late "morning" naps, and made our day a little different, in that the girls were napping during early afternoon and so we made it a day of recovery. :) Lulu and I watched Penelope play outside in her little pool and at her water table, but we were chased indoors by an evil lizard after an hour or so! :( It was probably for the best-- it was soooo hot, and that direct sunlight was pretty HOT. After lunch and a walk to the grocery store, we had dinner, did baths and Peppa, next thing you know it-- bedtime!! Our day in a nutshell. The girls are both very used to our routine, so when we have a different kind of day, like yesterday, it really takes another day to get back to normal! No doubt we'll be up early again tomorrow. :/

She was about to eat rice cereal with pears, peas and apple. :P She's still a big eater, and I never have to trick her into eating-- she loves it!!

Day 235

Happy 4th of July, Luciana!! :) It was our baby's first Independence Day, and we had a blast-- Mana, Holly & Lily came over, and we all walked to the fair at the middle school in our neighborhood. It was a smallish fair, but it was perfect for just dropping in on like we did. P rode the Ferris wheel with Daddy, but didn't seem too jazzed about it:

Lulu and I waited at the bottom and watched...

We had to go back home to get the girls dinner and naps before coming back out to the middle school grounds where we watched the fireworks show. It was amazing-- huge, colorful, long and LOUD. Luciana watched from her Ergo, and seemed to be interested, but would turn her head when it became too bright. I tried to keep her little ears covered, it was sooooo loud! Poor Penelope didn't like it so much-- she cried almost the whole time. It didn't help much that a little boy behind us kept screaming, and I think that added to her fear. :( We walked home, and got the girls right to bed-- at 10pm!! The latest they've ever been outside! We had a great time, and we are so glad we decided to do it. :)

Day 234

Us girls spent most of the day at home together, save for a quick run to Target to get Penelope a little pool-- it's getting HOT out! Lulu and I sat outside and watched P play at her water table and in her pool all afternoon. :) Lulu loved watching her sister play, and she wanted so badly to play too, she kept trying to get out of my arms! 

Luciana is eating so well, I know I keep saying that, but it's just so remarkable how just weeks ago she was exclusively breastfed! Nuts. :). 

Well, time for sleep... She'll be up soon!!

Day 233

Tired Mommy will say a few things about today & call it a night. We got a late start because P woke up late (YAY!!). We ran one quick errand, but played outside at home the rest of the day, and it was fun. Luciana is eating huge bowls of rice cereal or oatmeal with fruit and veggies, and I'm just stunned at how fast I can actually see her grow! She has been hungry, is all I can think, for the way she eats now! Anyway, she's a doll, she loves it and I'm happy anytime I see either of my girls really eat. :)

We hope to do something fun tomorrow, maybe some sort of outing... We'll see!

Day 232

Papa came home today. After he went surfing, I got my nails done-- here's the pics he took while I was away:

Daddy said it looked like Lulu grew in the three days he was away :) Well, he leaves again tomorrow for two-- let's see how much we can get her to grow for Papa! ;)

We had a great relaxing day at home-- no errands, no bug projects, just watched World Cup with Daddy (poor USA blew it) and then he made us dinner. Girls, we are so lucky-- your Daddy is so good to us. :) 

Lu is still waking lots at night. I will be so happy when she's done with this phase of her life!
